‘Nesciens Mater’ by Jean Mouton is an undisputed masterpiece of the French Renaissance, and takes pride of place in the Gents’ sacred repertoire. This disc offers an exploration of other sacred works from this otherwise obscure but great composer, conducted here by Graham Walker, the founding conductor of the College’s mixed voices choir, St John’s Voices.
